Dunster By Candlelight

Each Christmas the medieval village turns its back on the present and lights it's streets in the soft glow of candle lanterns. These are lit by people in old fashioned dress on stilts!Fun for all the family 5pm - 9pm Friday, 4pm - 9pm Saturday

Bridgwater Carnival

A great spectacle not to be missed.This is a truly amazing Carnival unlike any you would have seen before. Floats travel from all over the county for this special event. It is possible to trace the development of the carnival from 1847, making Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival the oldest event of its kind in the United Kingdom.The procession starts at 7pm but it is essential for you to arrive much earlier to soak up the atmosphere, join in the events that lead up to the carnival and establish a good position to watch the procession with its bright lights and colourful displays.

Autumn Steam Gala West Somerset Steam Railway

Cambrian railway theme this year. It will celebrate the 150th Anniversary of two of the Independent Railway Companies in Mid-Wales which eventually merged to become parts of the Cambrian Railways Company (it was always referred to in the plural). In 1922 the Cambrian became part of the expanded Great Western Railway and from 1948 part of British Railways.
