Here a few of our guests' comments, book your stay and we'll ensure you too have an enjoyable stay!

Thank you so much for making our short break in Somerset so enjoyable. The comfortable beds the power shower and delicious breakfasts added to the beautiful countryside we walked in. It was a very welcome break from routine.
Barbara Philpott, 06/09/2015
We only hope there is an opportunity to stay here again. Unable to fault comfort hospitality or help with advice on walks in the area including Exmoor and places of interest to visit.
Derek & Marion, 10/07/2015, 12/07/2015
Despite being unable to go and stay at Hartnells I have received nothing but great customer service, if the stay is anything like as good it must be a fantastic place to be.
Suesan Brown, 15/07/2014
Delightful stay. Thanks for the most friendly welcome.

What a gem Hartnells is? Sue & Tony the perfect hosts. I loved the little touches that Sue had made to make my birthday special. Great set up for our dog too. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay. Once again, thank you so much.

Darryl Classens, 16/10/2013
We stayed at Hartnells for 2 nights as we were attending a wedding at St Audries Park and it was just perfect. Sue and Tony were so lovely and really made us feel welcome. The breakfast was incredible and the beds were very comfortable. Bathrobes and slippers were provided in the wardrobe which was lovely as it made it feel even more homely! We would definitely stay at Hartnells again if we are ever in the area and would recommend it to anyone - I think it would be very difficult to find anywhere as nice as Hartnells. Thanks so much Sue and Tony for a wonderful stay.
Kat Lake, 03/10/2013
This was the best B and B I stayed in whilst walking the Macmillan Way West from Castle Cary in Somerset to Barnstaple in North Devon and was right on the route which was a bonus. It was welcoming and spacious with an excellent breakfast which set me up for a day's walking. Highly recommended.
Janice, 01/10/2013
Feeling so at home while away

Our three-night stay at Hartnells in late August was more than we had hoped for. Sue and Tony made us feel very much at home, gave us good ideas for places to visit and eat dinner and fed us well from the cakes on arrival to the super breakfasts. My wife’s gluten allergy was well catered for.

It was even possible to 'borrow' some black shoe polish. The super king double bed was ideal and the ancient bedroom door was one of the lovely authentic touches about this Grade ll-listed building. Our car was parked safely away from the road.

Williton itself is a pleasant base for exploration of Exmoor and the Quantocks and even has a not-to-be-missed Bakelite Museum!
Roger Jeal, 06/09/2013
We stayed here whist walking the Coleridge Way. What a wonderful warm, helpful welcome! The breakfast was amazing and kept us going well until we stopped for the equally delicious packed lunch our hosts supplied us with at our request.
Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights as we had a wedding to attend in nearby St Audries.

What a wonderful B&B, the lovely choice of breakfast, very comfy beds and Sue & Tony were excellent hosts. The extra services not mentioned on their website included lift to wedding, organised taxi back, itinerary for day out, table reservations which made our trip all the easier. We would highly recommend this B&B and will be back for another stay if we're in the area.

Thanks once again for everything greatly appreciated.

Wonderful place comfortable and welcoming. I am disabled but found the ramp really usefull I could get in and out in my wheelchair.Sue said for our next visit she will put the raised toilet seat out for me. Shower step is a bit high for me so needed help to get in. Would recommend to others

Brilliant place, situated with good travel options locally, very high quality service and Sue and Tony whom run the B&B are an absolute pleasure to speak to and will aid you however they can. The rooms have good space and are very comfortable with a good amount of facilities. Would higly recommend for anyone visiting near Minehead and very much so for the event I went for the Watchet Festival if you do not wish to camp.
Joshua Cartlidge, 28/08/2012

Shirley & son Chris, 17/03/2012
We stayed at Hartnells to attend a wedding at the nearby St Audries venue and were warmly welcomed with tea and home made cake in the very comfortable guests' living room.

When I stay somewhere I have 3 main needs, a comfortable bed, a clean room and a good shower. Hartnells excelled in all 3 areas and on top of that the breakfast was amazing; recomend the kippers!

Sue and Tony were very welcoming without making us feel crowded and went out of their way to be helpful. Sue even gave us a lift to the wedding and booked our taxi back.

We would definately stay there again if we were in the area.
Anne and John, 14/02/2012
Outstanding !!

Beautiful accommodation, wonderful attention to detail. Fantastic food. Highly recommended!
Michelle & Lesley from Hertfordshire, 08/12/2011
A wonderful B&B. Home from home. Sue and Tony are very welcoming and have an extensive knowledge of the surrounding area, offering great tips for day’s out, places to eat, etc.. The breakfasts are fantastic. The cottage is amazing. Cosy, spacious, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our only drawback, we didn’t stay for longer! Thanks Sue and Tony.
Lavinia & Pete, 10/11/2011
Thank you Sue and Tony for a delightful stay at Hartnells. You are wonderful hosts. Nothing is too much trouble and such great care is given to every detail. A very comfortable bed in a delightful room, delicious breakfasts with Sue's baking and preserves. She even 'phoned The Masons arms to ensure that we had a table reserved,it is only a very few minutes walk and serves excellent meals. Hartnells is an interesting house with a pretty garden and there are many places to visit. We had a fantastic time and hope to return. Sue and Tony are definitely hosts to visit and if they have a room available you will be fortunate.
John and Jane. Salisbury, 18/10/2011
Myself and my friend Sonya stayed at Hartnells so we could attend a wedding at nearby St Audires. Great welcome by Sue with tea/coffee and cake and a lovely breakfast the following morning. Thanks Sue for making us feel so welcome we really enjoyed our stay with you.
Sharon and Sonya 6.10.11, 12/10/2011
Thank you for giving us such a good time on our two-night "mini-break". We wanted somewhere quiet but within reach of Minehead, and Hartnell's proved to be an ideal choice. The historic building was very warm and comfortable, and we were made exceptionally welcome by Sue and Tony. The home-made cakes and choice of teas on arrival were great, as was the breakfast, cooked from local ingredients and accompanied by fruit from the pretty garden outside. Definitely recommended!
Brian & Yvonne Tilley, 17/09/2011
Myself and my partner had a wonderful (all be it too brief!) stay at Hartnells and thorughly enjoyed this delightful and beautiful b&b.Lovely spacious ground floor room and similarly spacious bathroom. I am a (fulltime) wheelchair user and if you would like to know more please see my comments on Thank you Sue and Tony for a great stay in your home! p.s. worth it for the plentiful breakfast alone!!
david jones, 06/09/2011
We had a fantastic time; the huge choice & taste of the breakfasts were amazing as was the delicious cake on arrival! Sue & Tony use locally sourced products & also made the bread & preserves, we were very impressed. The large room had a huge, comfy bed & the tea/coffee in our room came with homemade biscuits. Sue & Tony were extremely helpful with ideas of where to go & had lots of info & maps to guide us which was brilliant; it meant we got a lot more out of our time there than we would have otherwise. There are so many different walks to do (we did a few extra by accident when we got lost! Beautiful scenery & villages though.)

If you are taking your dog it's ideal. The room has a separate area and its own entrance to the garden, with back access directly onto the village recreational ground.

We recommend The Mason's Arms pub, just around the corner, which does great homemade food & the staff are friendly, but you'll need to book.

Finally, a big thank you to Tony & Sue for the bags of home grown fruit & veg you kindly gave us when we were leaving. You made us feel so welcome & we certainly enjoyed your cooking! We will definitely be back & telling friends & family about your lovely home.

Thank you.
Tarah, Tony & Chester the trainee assistance dog (Ringwood, Hampshire)

I was made to feel so welcome, I felt more like a friend than a paying guest. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and Sue gave great advice and info on local attractions and events. The house and gardens are delightful. Everything is fresh, clean and peaceful. And the food marvelous - fruit and veg straight from the garden and home made bread! I will definitely be going back. 04/07/2011

We stayed here the day before a wedding in St Audries Park. On arrival we were given a warm welcome by Susan and Tony, as well as tea and a homemade muffin! The room was perfect, spacious, well decorated and private which suited us. It was a very pleasant stay with a lovely cooked breakfast before we left. I would definately recommend Hartnells to friends and family and I would stay here again myself without a doubt.

Jill & Martin, 17/09/2010
Wonderful stay, thank you. Very kind with great attention to detail.
Lynn & Tim Best, 14/09/2010
Thatched roof Hartnells B&B is conveniently situated in a small village in the middle of a lovely rural area, with shops, steam trains sea side and country walks. The accomodation was excellent and hospitality extremely attentive. A long breakfast menu served to our taste made our stay too short, and guaranteed a return in the near future. Linda & David from Titley Herefordshire. September 2010.
Linda & David, 13/09/2010
We had a lovely time at Hartnell's - from the delicious cake on arrival to the fantastic breakfast in the morning! Very comfortable rooms and a warm welcome.

Jane & John, 02/09/2010
I feel that a friendly smile and tea and cake on arrival bodes well for a good stay. This proved true at Hartnells. Plenty of tasty choices at breakfast, homemade biscuits and fresh milk in the lovely comfortable room.
And I left with a home-grown marrow! I can't promise you'll get a marrow but you will have a perfect place to stay.

We arrived to a warm welcome and homemade cake! The private goundfloor double room was perfect and beautifully set out. As owners of a Jack Russell we had the ideal room with side access and a 10 second walk though the back garden to a park! It was a lovely location with hospitality to suit - thanks!
Stacey Millward, 31/08/2009
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hartnells. The room was ideal for us all with the side access to the garden/park for Spike. Your recommendation for dinner at the Notley Arms was also spot on. Breakfast was excellent, the only downside was that Spike would have liked to join in - sausages being his favourite! Would come again.

We had the upstairs room with separate bathroom but because we had our own staircase and landing it was completely private. Sue and Tony made us very welcome and were wonderful hosts, feeding us well and advising on where to visit. It was the perfect weekend away from our busy lives and families. We will definitely be back. Thank you.
